Hi, I’m Jess! The owner of Wither + Flourish Photography. My photography is meant to tell a story, capturing the emotions, connections, and little details that make life meaningful. I’m a mom to my precious daughter, Emmy, and I know how important it is to capture those special moments to cherish forever!
Whether it's the warmth of a family, the bond between a couple, or the quiet strength in a single moment, I strive to preserve the essence of it all.
my photography journey
I began taking photos in 2010 as a hobby with a point and shoot camera. Photography has been a passion of mine since then. I began second shooting for weddings in 2012 and started getting bookings of my own shortly after. I service the beautiful state of North Carolina and focus on weddings, engagements, and families including graduation pictures and newborn pictures.
style and equipment
When choosing a photographer, you want to be sure they are using the correct equipment and are prepared for every situation. You also want to see that their style is clear and consistent! I believe in full transparency when it comes to your special moments.
I’m big on natural light, vibrancy, and candidness. I love the look of film photography and want my work to reflect that. I use professional equipment when taking photos and while editing. The main camera body I use is a Nikon D850 and use a Nikon D700 as a backup. I use multiple lenses such as 35mm, 50mm, and 70-300mm. For events, I use an external flash when photos are taken indoors. I always shoot in RAW to insure the best image quality. When editing I use Photoshop Lightroom, and The Archetype Process.
